On May 23, 2013, the attorneys at Goldberg & Rosen, P.A. had the pleasure of attending the View from the Bench Judicial Luncheon featuring the Honorable Daryl Trawick, Judge Jorge Cueto, and Beatrice Butchko. The luncheon was held at the Marriot Hotel and was a great opportunity to get personal insight from the judges who handle the cases that we litigate on a day to day basis. The judges were very warm, welcoming and not only answered the questions that were asked upon them, but took it to the next level by volunteering little tid-bits of information to help make the litigation process smoother.
Of particular interest was the judicial desire for professionalism amongst lawyers on both sides of the bar. The Judges made it clear that they will not tolerate any improprieties from counsel and expect all lawyers that appear before them to be professional, prepared and treat each other with dignity and respect. The judges shared their personal experiences from trials and also discussed the trends for the future such as the use of power points at trial, the electronic filing system, and electronic discovery. Overall, it was a wonderful occasion which was attended by several local lawyers and judges, all of whom are interested in the betterment of the practice of law in Miami-Dade County.
