Laura Monteiro, Esq.
Ms. Monteiro graduated from the University of Florida, cum laude, where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Criminology, with a minor in Anthropology. After graduating college, Ms. Monteiro obtained her Juris Doctorate from the University of Miami School of Law, where she graduated cum laude. At the University of Miami School of Law, Ms. Monteiro was a member of the International Moot Court Board and participated in the International Criminal Court competition. Ms. Monteiro also served as an editor on the University of Miami Inter-American Law Review, where her article was selected for publication: Brazil’s Zika Epidemic and Its Effects on the Criminalization of Abortion.
After graduating law school, Ms. Monteiro served as an Assistant State Attorney for the Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office for approximately 4 years. As an Assistant State Attorney, Ms. Monteiro prosecuted a litany of crimes, ranging from misdemeanor to serious felonies such as Attempted Murder with a Firearm, Kidnapping, and Sexual Battery. As an Assistant State Attorney, Ms. Monteiro diligently sought justice, all the while forging unique bonds with victims and their families, allowing their stories to be heard.
At Goldberg and Rosen P.A., Ms. Monteiro continues to make our community a better place, where she fights on behalf of those individuals who suffer serious injury or loss due to negligence. Ms. Monteiro handles cases in a variety of areas including car crashes, premise liability, and product liability.
Ms. Monteiro was born and raised in Recife, Brazil but moved to the United States with her mother and sister at the age of 9. She is fluent in Portuguese and Spanish.
